Synthetic fibers have arrived in style! For the longest time, synthetic meant second best, but they have earned their seat at the table. Rosemary & Co has been innovating and working with a fiber manufacturer to design a brand new fiber to mimic Kolinsky Sable. It took 2 years of testing and tweaking. Rosemary described the moment they knew they 'got it', as a red dot moment. The moment of excitement when you see a red dot on your painting.
That 'Red dot moment' inspired the name for the range and the red dot collection was born.
It has all the qualities of sable, but is 100% synthetic. It holds pigment and water like nobody's business and the bounce and point is on par with sable. The Red Collection works beautifully in watercolour, but is suited for all mediums. Being even more bouncy than sable, it would make the perfect gouache brush.
